His terms included what I should wear, what colour lipstick, how I should do my hair, even things as petty as how much space I was allowed for my food in the fridge. He was lonely and bored and wanting constant entertaining, but on his terms. Once a month with his Coastguard buddies he'd do 'beach duty and go drinking'. He had retired at 50 with a fabulous pension and lump sum, but had precious few hobbies other than watching Jeopardy and Netflix every night and drinking, until he needed asleep, a lot of rum at lunchtime. He didn't really have a wonderful job either. In other words, he really had no intention of sailing.

He had looked for a marina to make his home, park his BMW and move his vast storage room. It would have needed a lot of work to make it ocean-ready (but it had sailed down from my island to Florida at some point). He was really a loud bully who got himself thrown out of Marco Island Marina for his interfering, know-it-all ways and when he found another marina, Longboat Key, he had to motor up there as his boat is in no condition to sail. He promised to spend a year sailing the Caribbean and then make his mind up about whether to do the coast of South America or the Canal. But he had a boat and I am mad keen to sail, especially the Panama Canal and across the Pacific. Having finished with the last bf - he had started out looking like the masculine man who takes charge having an amazing job, a world-travelling Special Agent for the US Treasury and "had" to carry a gun, not the sort of man I usually go for. The review of this book after I read it is here Data, A Love Story, ebook. This "review" is a blog about my last bf and why I need to sharp up on online data. But he had a boat and I am mad keen to sail, especially the Panama I switched to the ebook edition.
